Growing up on a lake in a rural area outside Seattle, I made good friends with the tall swaying trees in my backyard. Seeking out quiet spaces among douglas fir or by the breezy water to daydream, I felt solace in an imaginal realm and grounded in my environment. Curious and sensitive, then, and now, my interests are broad and changing. Dreams, after life, space and time, silence, form, movement -- these interests I have always known.

I work primarily in oil paints and make encaustic (beeswax) paintings. Sometimes I create one of a kind jewelry pieces in silver or work sculpturally in clay. My process is organic and spontaneous. ... Changing emotional landscapes are my fuel and may be the impression one is left with. Muses include: death (ie. change), seasonal cycles, the beauty in decaying matter, and the containment of emotionally expansive material into form or form-less environments.

I currently volunteer with women living in prison and am involved with hospice -- these experiences also live in my creations.

In conjunction with my artwork I am a student and practitioner of transpersonal astrology. Here, I seek meaning in things. Please see my links for more information.
